OPPORTUNITY
By the time you have looked around this website you should have a pretty good idea of our ethos and life here. We are lucky to live in a beautiful part of the Highlands, with low rainfall and plenty of sunshine, and to be based at home; but we are too busy and have little chance to get away. Having built the croft up from scratch we would now like some help and leisure time. Hence this opportunity for a person/couple (some may consider the studio appartment too small for two) to come and live here to help and join in our lifestyle.
We are hoping to find someone who wishes to be involved in organic farming, and mainly outside work and property maintenance, but who could occasionally help with cleaning the holiday homes and cook, and has an ethos of living reasonably lightly. Any arrangement can be considered.
You will have to be practical and able to do some or all of the following:- look after the animals, mow lawns and strim/weed whack, drive a tractor, help with building repairs, holiday home cleaning, cook organic wholefood meals from fresh produce. Would suit someone who has always wanted to farm but never had the opportunity. We are addicted to building in a sustainable way and plan to replace the caravan with a new holiday home. Strength, enthusiasm and commitment are essential, we can teach the rest! We are thinking of 12 hours a week in return for a warm and beautiful living area with bedroom and en suite. There maybe room for you to develop your own craft/growing business, any ideas will be considered. Extra hours would be paid if needed.
Who might it suit? Anyone who is fit and healthy and a non smoker. As a first contact we would like to speak to you on the phone. Then a visit for us to meet, and you to experience life here at first hand. This should be thought of as more a way of life, rather than just a job contract.
